This was also the first phone call for this service and hence it was the inaugural of Modi Telstra`s Mobile Net Service. However, this was not entirely an Indian owned service. It was a partnership between The Modi Group of India and Telstra which is a very popular telecom service in Australia.

The first call in India was indeed made through this telecom service provider but at that moment this wasn’t the only service provider in the country. There were a total of eight companies that were permitted and allowed to extend their services to the nation.
