These days, Realme is one of the brands consumers look up to when it comes to trending, stylish, and good specification phones under a budget. Others in the race such as Xiaomi, Huawei etc., and every time they launch a new smartphone it competes with others in the line.
However, Realme is a recent addition to the industry in the year 2018 as compared to other brands that have been around us soon after the invention of mobile phones.
Like most of the smartphones that made Realme’s hold stronger in the market, the XT model was launched in the year 2019 as well. But, has it contributed to the image of the Realme that we see today? Let us find out in this Realme XT review.

Features And Specifications Of The Realme XT
Now comes the most important part of this Realme XT review which will give you a greater picture of this smartphone and help you make a smart and informed decision. Here are all the features of this smartphone:
One of the things that attract the customers before they know about the specifications is the design and looks of the smartphone. As far as the Realme XT is concerned, its back panel is made up of Gorilla Glass 5 which is quite rare with the price you pay. It comes in two color variations- pearl blue and pearl white. Both of these features have a shiny surface with some lines in a contrast color visible when light hits at a certain angle. All four sides are curved which helps in the better handling of the phone. The buttons are placed correctly keeping in mind the comfort of the user.
Realme already had a smartphone with a super AMOLED display and this is the second. The bezels are relatively thinner than most of the smartphones and due to the OLED panel, the colors are extremely immersive and vibrant. The Realme XT screen is of 6.4- inch with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 and has a top-notch design. Like most smartphones, the screen is protected with Gorilla Glass 5 and has a smooth feel to it.
One thing that I like about this smartphone is that it has an in-display fingerprint scanner. With phones under the budget as this one, we are used to the sensors being placed on the back panel and that is something which I don’t prefer. Hence, this in-display scanner comes as a breath of fresh air and I am sure many users are going to love it. Also, this sensor is quite quick and easy to use. Apart from that, the phone also has a facial recognition feature.
In terms of memory and storage, there are three variations available to choose from- 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage, 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, and 8 GB RAM with 128 GB storage. But, all of these have the Snapdragon 712 Soc processor. With ColorOS 6.0.1 and Android 9.1 Pie, you get a smooth functioning. However, some pre-installed apps can be installed by the user.
This Realme XT review will be of no use until and unless we discuss how the phone performs in reality. So, for the longest time, we could feel that the performance is very similar to Realme 5 Pro which is good enough. However, to use the phone you will have to enable the one-hand mode since it can be a little too tall for one’s convenience. You can multitask and switch between different apps and not experience any interruption. If you are a gamer you can go for this phone as well since it performs well in that case too. For day to day usage or playing heavy games like PUBG mobile, the phone didn’t compromise with the performance.
Realme seems to be well aware of the fact that customers nowadays care more about megapixels than anything else. Thus, it has maintained the focus on the 64 MP camera rather than the Realme XT screen, battery etc. the camera is capable of capturing details and has quick autofocus. Even in low light conditions, the pictures come out to be good enough with good colors and saturation. However, there are some cons as well. To begin with, videos cannot be shot with the wide-angle camera and one cannot adjust the background blur effect in portrait mode.
The Realme XT comes with a 4000 mAh battery which is decent enough. But, I think it could have been better. This will last you for a day with medium usage such as an hour or two calls, web surfing, YouTube etc. But, with the USB Type- C port you will be able to charge it quite quickly.
